- Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and document patient progress accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Provide emotional support and counselling to patients and families coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Participate in research initiatives, quality improvement projects, and professional development activities.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Zealand.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in oncology nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
