We have two sawmills, one in Waipapa near Kerikeri in the gorgeous Bay of Islands, and another in Whangarei. And we are proud to be part of the Fletcher Building Group of companies. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Coordinator to join our team. The Quality Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our ongoing success and uphold our reputation for excellence in the industry.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, materials, and finished products to identify any deviations or defects.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to optimize processes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to address quality-related concerns and facilitate resolution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in timber grading
  • Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within the manufacturing industry, preferably in timber or woodworking.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to quality and safety.
