This role is critical in leading in the enablement and delivery of our tobacco and vaping team, supporting the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) with compliance activities related to Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990.The role will see you leading and overseeing action in accordance with our national strategy, plan and evidence-based approach to compliance activity. You will be required to effectively lead and manage systems and processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance activity.There is flexibility for you to be based at one our Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District Offices and work from home when possible. You will be joining a diverse and supportive team, passionate about working towards better health outcomes for our communities.Moū - About youYou will be someone with experience in an enforcement role where you have used sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. You will be experienced in regulation or compliance and have worked to support project delivery.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Law, Health, Public Administration or Compliance
  • Able to apply subject matter expertise in Regulatory approaches and/or Smokefree and Regulated products legislation
  • Experience in the management of complaint processing and response
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within regulation or compliance space
  • Understanding and experience working in partnership with Pacific communities
  • Previous leadership experience working within the health sector or government experience and knowledge of government structures
  • Advanced organisation, planning and time management skills able to reprioritise and react to issues and demanding situations
