Job Description We are looking for someone with an interest or experience in agriculture or a superstar who is motivated and willing to learn.This position would be great for a backpacker who is looking to work full time and to make some money, but also with flexibility to travel in our non-busy times. The job runs from the last week in July through till the end of January 2025 but with 6 weeks available to have off during this period to travel. You would fit into the roster with our 3 permanent staff working 6 days on and 2 days off.Key jobs - sole charge of rearing 150 replacement heifer calves from the end of July to the middle of September. Also milking, putting up fences, learning to drive the tractor (if keen), and general farm jobs.We milk 625 cows through a 54-bale rotary with automatic cup removers on the beautiful Canterbury Plains. Located only 5 minutes south of Tinwald, Ashburton you would need a car to get to town for groceries and explore on your time off.
