In every aspect of our work, we are committed to helping whānau be the best they can be.He kōrero mō te tūranga | The RoleOur 12-bed Kilbirnie residential unit is usually buzzing with activity, and our diverse group of kaimahi love coming to work each day! You will be joining our team on a common mission of walking alongside Tangata Whaiora, providing support to help them create and achieve goals, assist with daily tasks like cooking, supporting with hospital appointments, medication support and achieving as much independence as possible.This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of our people. Our aim is to promote a mutually supportive, collaborative platform that provides a sounding board for advice and learning with and from experienced senior staff and encouraging shared accountability to a wider regional group.We have 2 permanent full-time positions available working 40 hours per week, rostered shifts. This role will be based in Kilbirnie.Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Encourage and support Tangata Whaiora connections with Whānau and provide support with appointments around mental and physical health.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with tangata whaiora to identify significant goals. Provide encouragement and support to achieve their goals.
  • Ensure key documentation and handovers are accurately recorded.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, bringing ideas and updating others on their activities.
He kōrero mōu | About YouWe are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to motivate and encourage whānau realise their potential. You'll have the ability to easily build professional relationships, while maintaining strong professional boundaries.To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, Level 4 or be able to demonstrate your current plans to achieve this mandatory requirement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with mental health professionals and within our team.
  • Experience in the mental health sector.
  • Must be flexible to work around rostered shifts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
  • A current full driver's licence.
