We are passionate about producing great outcomes for Aucklanders through planning community services and facilities in Tāmaki Makaurau.He angitūtanga: The opportunityThe Service Investment and Programming unit have committed to review each local board's service property portfolio. This mahi supports changes in local board decision-making and the LTP 2024-34 direction that considers how to invest in our parks and community services portfolio.The portfolio review will analyse local boards' service asset portfolios, identify opportunities for change, and drive improved performance within the constraints of capital and operational investment capabilities. The outcomes of the review will inform our advice to local boards to ensure their service asset portfolios are managed sustainably as our communities change.As a Service and Asset Planning Specialist you'll make a significant contribution to this by leading complex and complicated investigations that help us understand what is happening in our communities now and helping create an understanding of what could happen in the future. You will lead the development of advice, to three local boards, on how they can manage their asset portfolios sustainably and within budget.Key to this role will be your ability to translate policy and research into good-quality verbal and written advice on community service investment. You'll be working with other council directorates and council-controlled organisations (CCOs) on strategic projects to transform Auckland.Our community services and facilities need to respond to a growing and more diverse Auckland, within the context of a constrained financial environment. Our team will provide a crucial contribution to investment planning over the coming years, so this is an exciting opportunity where you know your efforts will be valued and make a difference!He kōrero mōu: About youWe are looking for someone with experience delivering projects with significant impact for communities, a comprehensive understanding of service design, and the ability to design asset management and investment strategies that prioritise service delivery outcomes.You will have strong stakeholder and relationship management skills and the ability to give quality and constructive advice within a diverse political environment. You will enjoy working in a collaborative and flexible team environment and bring experience of coaching and supporting other team members.Knowledge of Auckland Council's strategic plans and policies, te reo and tikanga Māori, and how the Local Government (Auckland Council) Act 2009 impacts on option assessment and decision-making would be highly advantageous.Ideally, you are excited by the opportunity to mahi in a team with a customer-centric approach, a collaborative culture, and that celebrates diversity.Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offerIf you're looking for your next challenge and are interested in building your experience in community services planning, this could be the ideal opportunity.
