Reporting to the Systems and R&D Manager, you will collaborate with project leaders, team members and technical specialists to design, simulate, and test refrigeration system components and assemblies as well as investigate new concepts and proof test them. The person we are looking for will be data driven and have a true passion for new product development, and a desire to apply that passion within a large New Zealand owned business.QualificationsWhat you will bring to the roleYou will have a strong work ethic, possess a high level of attention to detail along with well-developed planning and time management skills. Your ability to work both practically and theoretically is essential, so too is your ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the business. You must be an exceptional problem-solver who rises to a challenge, while working in an open and collaborative way.Along with a Mechanical Engineering or other relevant degree, you will have 5+ years of experience in product design for manufacture in the refrigeration or HVAC industry. You will have experience with thermodynamic systems along with Heat Transfer, fluid mechanics and refrigeration system design. You will also be proficient at designing and documenting control algorithms.You will have knowledge of BOM systems and experience with an MRP (preferably Epicor). You will also be comfortable reading and modifying electrical schematics and selecting components.You will have experience with simulation packages: RefSim, AMESIM, or similar, and you will be familiar with using Excel (or similar) as a data analysis tool. Experience with 3d modelling software, AutoCAD Electrical, and JIRA would be an advantage, so too would experience in programming languages like Python, C and Structured text (PLC).Additional InformationWhat we can offerWe are a close-knit team within a fast moving, supportive environment.
