About the role
Work for one of New Zealand's largest independent Health Care organisations going from strength to strength, looking for new and innovative ways to provide healthcare. They strive to provide excellent health outcomes to all their patients in both urgent care and GP settings. Work with experienced healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team to provide patient centred, evidence based and culturally safe care. The position is 0.8FTE, primarily between 9:30am - 6pm
  • Complete accurate nursing assessments
  • Provide interventions and deliver on-going care
  • Perform primary care duties e.g. immunisations, smear taking, health checks, wound management
  • Support and educate patients and families to promote wellbeing
  • Provide information to patients to make informed treatment decisions
  • Maintain timely, accurate patient documentation
  • Supervise orientating and student nurses
  • Manage emergency situations
Skills and Experience
  • NZ registered nurse with a current annual practicing certificate
  • Prior experience working within Primary Health Care
  • Authorised vaccinator and smear taker is advantageous but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure with resilience and tenacity
  • Team player committed to providing excellent service
  • Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and understanding of biculturalism
