- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support various client engagements, including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, valuations, capital budgeting, infrastructure projects, strategic planning, and financial forecasting.
- Analyse financial data, identify trends, and interpret results to provide insights and recommendations to clients. Translate complex financial concepts into clear and concise reports understandable by non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, gather relevant financial information, and tailor financial models to meet their specific needs. Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and delivery of high-quality work.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Implement best practices in financial modelling methodologies and techniques.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior team members. Lead project teams effectively, delegate tasks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables within budget and scope.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for additional services, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.
- Contribute to the growth of the Financial Modelling practice through thought leadership and networking activities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting financial modelling. Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree and / or professional qualification (MBA, CFA, ICIFA or CPA) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and / or other financial modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python).
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and valuation techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience working in project teams and driving successful outcomes.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong desire to drive business impact.
- 5+ years of experience in financial modelling, preferably within a consulting, professional services firm, private equity or project development.
