PCA Supplier Quality Engineer
Hewlett Packard Enterprise
- Gurgaon, Haryana
- Permanent
- Full-time
- Interface with PCA suppliers to oversee PCA manufacturing to track and monitor SPI, AOI, ICT, BSI, FBT, and End of Line inspection with proven process control and data driven frequency of sampling to show that sampling can identify process drift. In order to track process drift and show critical processes are in control, PCA SQE must utilize historical production yield data to optimize processes using standard SPC tools such as X-bar, Sigma, Cp/Cpk, and Histograms.
- Interfaces with PCA suppliers to define, implement and sustain supplier process that will output quality and reliable product with a focus on Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters that are governed by customer satisfaction
- Interfaces with PCA suppliers and manufacturing partners through quality meetings and audits, implements supplier CTQ (critical to quality) processes, and monitors supplier performance (yield, process Cpk) to achieve quality goals. Improves supplier’s understanding of HPE’s quality, technical, and performance requirements.
- Engages suppliers to develop an Early Warning System to proactively prevent quality issues and product non-conformance.
- Designs and integrates quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of products or solutions for a customer segment or business unit.
- Leads NPI (new product introduction) clean launch for new generation PCA assemblies through methods including supplier audits, and PCA qualification review.
- Analyzes and reviews new product and solution designs and specifications for potential quality issues; provides tangible feedback and proposes changes to improve product quality and minimize risk of failures.
- Reviews reports, test data, and process results for assigned components and subsystems to identify trends and issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop recommendations for resolution
- Communicates product and process issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management, internal, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects and improve quality.
- Conduct new supplier qualification and sustaining supplier audits, Drives continuous improvement at suppliers in the areas of PCA manufacturing, assembly, test, rework and reliability monitoring.
- Lead cross-functional teams in resolving product non-conformance through failure analysis, CAR, 8D, field failure predictions.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
- Proficient technical knowledge in PCA processes and PCA manufacturing equipment (SMT Process, Wave Soldering Process, selective soldering , Press Fit Process and Rework Process)
- Strong background in PCA line qualification, failure modes, reliability testing and failure analysis methods.
- Using engineering tools and software packages to test, design, and evaluate products and processes.
- Strong analytical, SPC, statistics, and problem solving skills.
- Understanding of material properties, hardware and electrical component design and manufacturing, and industry quality standards (JEDEC, IPC) and methodologies.
- Using empirical and root-cause analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate product designs, specifications, and processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate quality plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills, proficient in using different quality tools to solve quality issues.
- Experience in FMEA and Control Plan development / improvement (Quality planning)
- Experience in conducting onsite and virtual audits.
- Knowledge in PCA DFm or DFp would be an advantage.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years in dealing with supplier quality.
- Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in PCA manufacturing, assembly, test and rework.
- Deep knowledge in SMT DIMM connector , straddle mount connector assembly and rework would be an advantage.
