DESIGN SPECIALIST - CHENNAI

• Project planning for comprehensive device designs within the context of development projects
• Providing complex design solutions for complete systems and devices
• Monitoring QCD Parameters in accordance with Quality system of the company
• Reviewing process with the team
• Identifying design requirements with the customer in the form of specified project description
• Planning and structuring of complete system according to FORVIA HELLA standard
• Prioritize tasks based on the urgency and complexity.
• Preparing concept design for complete system with defined input for preparing Quote, Bill of material etc.. to Customer
• Providing complex design solutions considering functional, material, technical, production feasibilities
• Ensure new or changed designs over the whole design process and guiding for the implementation
• Providing quick design concepts within given time frame
• Provide guidance to the team after completing concept design for with selection of materials & standards to be used, definition of tolerances etc
• Maintaining targets in terms of quality, costs & delivery
• Regular review with the team members and customers / Clients and monitoring the tasks detailing phase
• To assign the Patent Instructor to analyse the patent situation.
• Assessment of design using special tools such as DMU, Q-Checker , D-FMEA etc...
• To qualify Components and to verify mechanical design article (simulations, tolerance calculations, etc.)
• To perform the characteristic-based feasibility study and to define dimensional requirements for the single parts, sub-assemblies and complete device.
• Preparing design presentations to customers as and when required in the absence of senior Design Specialist.
• Preparing documents related to ISO
• Checking complete system, comparing with customer input and the delivered tasks
• Cooperation with Leads at other Lead locations and Experts
• Conducting and Reviewing annual appraisal process to the team in co-ordination with immediate supervisor
• Providing and assisting on the job training to the team
• Mentoring new colleagues
• Conducting regular review with in team to solve general issues in the absence of superior
• Carrying out other tasks related to this position (including examining and evaluating suggestions for improvement, Flexibility and commitment in delivering Results, following Hella Values, as well as complying with industrial safety and environmental protection measures pertaining to the scope of duties)

• Diploma & Post Diploma in Tool & Mold Design / Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 8 years of experience
• Knowledge in Quality Management system
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Good at Communication / Presentation skills
