Till date we have worked in 10 states in 7,124 villages and impacted 6.93 million people To know more about us, visit us at: www.wotr.org The WOTR Centre for Resilience Studies (W-CReS), initiated in 2007 and established in 2016, is WOTR's eminent and autonomous applied research unit. Employing a trans-disciplinary approach, W-CReS conducts multi-stakeholder, applied research on critical, ground-level issues impacting society. W-CReS' mission is to unravel the causal relationships and drivers of behavioural change, devise and test potent strategies for transformation, and contribute to policy enhancement and capacity building. W-CreS works closely with civil society agencies, businesses, local, state and federal governments to achieve its mission. It has formal MOUs with leading publicly funded research and scientific institutions in India, such as the ICAR, IMD, and CRIDA. It's robust research efforts are attested to by over 200 published research papers, impact studies and socio-economic baseline studies of project villages. A brief snapshot about the role: W-CReS is currently engaged in various action research studies that involve technical, social as well as policy assessments in the water sector, and stakeholder engagement process with communities. These studies are primarily focused on water resource development and management through Ecosystem based Approach. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher who has experience and expertise in conducting studies and developing scientific and academic writings in the water sector in English. The candidate will work in a team on contributing to developing various research proposals and outputs. Key Responsibilities and Duties or Tasks to be performed Design and execute research studies related to water resources with a multidisciplinary approach. Provide inputs in writing research proposals, research reports and articles, papers, and documents for donor requirements, and other publications. Create relevant content including policy briefs, info-briefs, and other products such as blogs, workshops, training material/manuals, training, meeting reports, etc. Periodic field visits in Maharashtra and other states for data collection, contributing to training and workshops, etc. Take an active part in designing and conducting trainings, workshops, and conferences as well as developing different products of these events. Qualification and Skills Required: A Master's degree in water resource development or management/ water policy and governance/ water regulations/ Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)/ applied hydrology/ and Geology. At least 2 years of experience in writing scientific/technical reports, research articles, papers, etc. At least 3 independent (Single or lead author) writings in terms of reports, papers, blogs, or articles. Familiarity with Govt. programs and policies in the water sector in India. Fluency in English writing and speaking is a must. Communicating in Hindi, at least at a basic level, will be an added advantage. Familiarity with climate change and its impacts on water resources.
