Introduction: . Support testing and implementing of new controls and checks for KYC Operation teams to maintain the Quality Control framework . Head of KYC Refresh Quality Control is responsible for protecting Barclays IB Bank against regulatory and / or reputational risk from financial crime - anti-terrorist, ant money laundering, sanctions, corruption / bribery. The role is responsible for the control governance in Corporate/IB Onboarding and Corporate/IB Refresh QC teams . Manage a team size spanning c50 to c60 FTEs with functional accountability for the provision of Quality Control across Onboarding & Refresh teams . The role holder is responsible for meeting the Regulatory obligations in ensuring the Ops teams execute right level of Customer Due Diligence . The role holder is responsible for meeting all internal standards outlined within the KYC policies administered and owned by Group Compliance across teams managed . The role holder is accountable to lead, develop and motivate teams undertaking complex KYC checks in support of the Markets and Banking Coverage teams What will you be doing . Head of KYC Refresh Quality Control is responsible for protecting Barclays Corporate Bank against regulatory and / or reputational risk from financial crime - anti-terrorist, ant money laundering, sanctions, corruption / bribery. The role is responsible for the control governance across Corporate Onboarding, IB Onboarding, Corporate Refresh and IB Refresh . Manage a team size spanning c10 to 30+ FTEs with functional accountability for the provision of KYC Client Maintenance services in Corporate Banking business . The role holder is responsible for meeting the Regulatory obligations in the execution of quality checks undertaken as part of the Know Your Customer process (KYC) for Onboarding and Refresh teams . The role holder is responsible for ensuring the Operations team meets all internal standards outlined within the KYC policies administered and owned by Group Compliance across the Onboarding and Refresh Operations teams . The role holder is accountable to lead, develop and motivate teams undertaking complex KYC checks in support of the UK Corporate and IB Coverage teams . QC AVP lead is a strong leader with Business & AML knowledge, commercial awareness, stakeholder management, risk awareness and control Mindset. The QC AVP lead is primarily responsible for ensuring that new client relationships undergo appropriate due diligence as mandated by the Barclays Global Customer Due Diligence and Onboarding Procedures. While the primary role is to protect the bank from AML risk, a QC AVP lead must understand the service element provided to the Business, thereby adhering to committed SLAs. . The AVP lead will support testing and implementing of new controls and checks for KYC Operation teams to maintain the Quality Control framework. What we're looking for: . Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience . 12+ years' experience in a financial institution (preferably in the Corporate/ Investment Banking domain), with 4-5 years in direct people management role . Excellent understanding of KYC . Practical experience in fulfilment of Controls and Checks . Proven ability to make decisions using own initiative and without guidance . Ability to contribute effectively when working with colleagues at more senior levels across KYC, QC, Financial Crime and with Sales/ Relationship teams, both verbally and written . Extensive Global KYC knowledge preferably in the Corporate Banking and/or Investment Banking domain . Proven ability to analyse a significant amount of data and offer solutions and recommendations for improved operational control efficiency Skills that will help you in the role: . ACAMS . Excellent understanding of KYC . Practical experience in fulfilment of Controls and Checks . Good level of knowledge of Operational control requirements . Understanding of a Control environment and maintaining a Quality Assurance framework . Proven ability to make decisions using own initiative and without guidance . Ability to contribute effectively when working with colleagues at more senior levels across KYC both verbally and written . Proven ability to analyse a significant amount of data and offer solutions and recommendations for improved operational quality, control and efficiency. .
