- Co-ordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and reviews input from team members
- Deal with the day to day queries from the WSP in India UK Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity
- Report to the WSP in India UK Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent
- Project manage commissions from the WSP in India UK Team, using applicable project management tools
- Lead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme.
- Domestic cold & Hot Water Demand and its pipe sizing, Secondary hot water looping design.
- Water heater storage and sizing based on ASHRAE Code & hunter curve & applicable local codes.
- Design & selections for hot water heating systems: Point of Use Electric, Centralized boiler/Calorifier & Air source heat pump (ASHP) systems.
- Heat tracing design for Exposed cold and hot water distribution based on UK standards & regulations.
- Foul Drainage Flow & Pipe sizing, Grease, Oil and Lint interceptor design based on system requirements.
- Sewage Lift station, Dewatering, Basement sump pumps & Lift sump pump sizing and capacity as per applicable codes and standards.
- Basement open channel drain sizing &Roof Rainwater Gutter Sizing Design.
- Septic tank sizing, Soak pit
- Rainwater system design and pipe sizing calculations based on applicable codes and Standards
- Conventional system and Siphonic System based on Client requirements.
- Codes and standards Applicable standards based on above listed: NFPA, UAE, NFPA, Indian & BS.
- Fire Detection and Alarm System based on NFPA72, UAE and NBC codes.
- Strong Knowledge on Design, QC Check and reviewing the above public health and Fire protection system services.
- Capable to do Multidisciplinary coordinate check, attend client meeting, Client comment/RFI responses in all stages of design.
- Having experience on Fire Protection design in all Stages (Concept, Schematic, Detailed, Shop, as built and GFC stages) and preparation of Design report.
- Excellent working knowledge of NBC, BS, NFPA and other local codes and good working knowledge of UK codes would be advantageous
- The applicant should have design experience of UK Projects
- Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technical skills
- Agree and monitor scope of works with the Local CRC Head of MEP
- Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local CRC Head of MEP and WSP UK Team to allow detailed design
- Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the design
- Develop positive professional relationship with the WSP India UK Team, communicating openly about project progress
- Deal with the day to day queries from the WSP UK Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity
- Participate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP India.
- Report to the WSP UK Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent
- Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes
- Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader
- Raise the level of technical competence within the teams
- Implement delivery and quality measurement processes
- Promote technical excellence in all our projects
- Undertake technical reviews, checks and contribute to the concept design
- Provide continuous feedback to the Local Head of CRC on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvement
- Develop positive professional relationship with the WSP in India UK Team, communicating openly about project progress
- Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP in India
- Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes
- Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader
- Identify and flag additional fees to the Local Head of CRC
- Complete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines
- Assist in elements of financial management
- Deputise for team leader
- The applicant will have proven experience in the design of Railway infra projects with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.
- The senior applicants should ideally have obtained British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, possess a degree in Building Services Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. CIBSE, BS, ASHRAE, Institute of Plumbing.
- This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification and tender to the required standards.
- Good presentation skills are also required
- Must be fully conversant with technical software, such as Hevacomp and manufacturer’s software.
- A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential
- Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
