- Understand the technology limits with respect to designs and establish verification plans to address these nodes.
- Drive technical innovation in your area of expertise as a recognized Micron expert in your field.
- Standardize DFM methods and procedures across area, department and/or FABs.
- Define and lead sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects that are essential to Micron’s design roadmap. Help to craft strategic decisions.
- Work with process integration and design engineers on issues and projects related to DFM.
- Identify and initiate discussions on design rule specification for a given design.
- Summarize plans, progress to experimental work, and conclusions in the form of written reports.
- Provide advice and counsel to senior management on technical issues related to DFM.
- Build strong customer relationships to understand customer expectations.
- Have a deep understanding of design rules and actively verify the patterning table and design requests before design work commences. Anticipate challenges based on this verification and initiate critical discussions ahead of design release dates.
- Provide photolithographic checks on look-ahead designs which includes challenging structures for patterning process on silicon for cutting-edge technology development & qualification for DRAM and NAND products.
- Closely collaborate with OPC team to bring in forward-looking optical correction technologies and apply them on design structures.
- Provide clear and robust feedback and layout repair suggestions to designers for the challenging structures working in collaboration with OPC team.
- Develop a scheme for standardization of designs among various nodes.
- Develop processes, automated verifications, and systems to support and expedite verification.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in science or engineering or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of front/back-end layout and DRC
- Capable of working in a cross functional and multi-site team environment spanning multiple time zones.
- Strong understanding of photolithography. Familiarity with semiconductor process.
- Understanding of optics. Understanding of the principals of photolithography and optical proximity corrections (OPC).
- Understanding of how design rules are created for a VLSI process technology node.
- Understand how designs are transferred to layout and then generated for release for reticle/MASK production.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with multi-functional teams like Photo, Process Engineer.
- Strong curiosity about research and development, and ability to build production-worthy technologies.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Knowledge in machine learning algorithms and methodologies.
- Familiarity with semiconductor electrical fundamentals and device physics.
- Experience in scripting/programming.
