RESPONSIBILITIES Be an enthusiastic contributor to our growing organization and product engagement efforts. Collaborate as a team to plan upcoming projects but work autonomously to deliver the pieces each member owns. Review business requirement documents and user stories to plan content. Maintain index of enhancements/defects from each sprint for Release Notes, for each product. Receive demonstrations from product team (developers and QA), then spend time on your own to learn the functionality and document configuration and user steps. Plan, develop, format, write and edit a variety of product content. Examples are below: Implementation configuration guides End user guides Product Release Notes API documentation Data flow diagrams Support department guides Create forms to be used to collect data from customers during the application setup process. Research configuration requirements and steps for integration partner platforms. Become a product expert on the content you create; be comfortable and willing to provide product demonstrations for coworkers and sometimes clients. Build a comprehensive library of product user documents and implement a methodology for tracking revisions and maintaining version control; serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for our document management system. While creating documentation, conduct user acceptance testing and provide feedback to delivery via defect or change request logging. Understand the overall features of the product and possess advanced comprehension of the applications to which you are assigned including their relationship to other applications. Fully understand the software delivery life cycle and ensure documentation progress within it. Contribute to special reports, business procedures and knowledge shares as needed. Occasionally contribute to business and/or technical requirements documents (BRD/TRD). Establish a project management plan and schedule for gathering content requirements, getting feedback from subject matter experts, setting milestones and hitting due dates; we use Wrike as a project management tool. Be adaptable to changing priorities and fluctuating workload. Juggle a few different projects in varying stages at once. Be flexible, as many coworkers work in different time zone. Some meetings are early morning or late evening. Be collaborative and easy to work with. We're a dedicated, fun group of people and hope you are too. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Minimum Ability to manage multiple projects at once Quickly be able to grasp complex technical topics and present them in a manageable, user-friendly way. Flexibility with hours Prior experience in a product/technical writer role for a technology organization, creating user guides and WIKI content. Examples of work will be requested. Experience using technical writing/training content creation tools. Advanced level MS Office suite knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Able to write in a procedural style for multiple audiences. Able to document business processes and flowcharts. Keen interest in technology and the latest digital trends, plus have an aptitude for turning complex ideas into easy-to-understand concepts. Preferred B.A. in English, Creative Writing, Computer Science, or related field with excellent verbal and written communication.
