- Establish, build, and grow the product management discipline, and bring together all product managers in the BBY India hub to share and learn from each other.
- Lead the community of practice bringing together all product managers for establishing the product management standards, and sharing learnings
- Connect with the US product management CoP and learn and grow together
- Establish consistency in how work gets done.
- Partner within BBY India cross-functionally across engineering, experience design, AND partner with the US Product, Engineering, and experience design COPs.
- Align to current and emerging practices, standards, and programs (for example, Modernization, Stakeholder management, job families, skills, etc.)
- Work within BBY India product managers to build and grow a positive product management culture.
- Enable hiring at a larger scale, with a consistent view of the skills needed by teams in the hub.
- Use consistent job family descriptions when assessing talent, for open positions and when assessing employee performance.
- Help with onboarding of individuals to a discipline. Enable new employees to create impact sooner.
- Improve retention by making BBY India a premier employer for product managers.
- Provide senior onsite leadership, in partnership with Engineering and XD leads, and the hub leader.
- Enable connection and communication across hub teams, and to their Best Buy US team partners.
- Measure the pulse of the hub teams, helping coach and resolve intra-team and cross-team issues.
- Advocate for BBY India teams to make sure they have a "seat at the table" with US teams.
- Establish relationships with leaders in BBY India and the Best Buy US to understand the value that the different product teams have in meeting company objectives, and how the teams contribute to those objectives.
- Coach and develop managers, senior managers, and associate directors on their team who are themselves responsible for their teams and outcomes
- Conduct 1:1s with their direct reports, and skip-level discussions for team members to assess team health, promote cohesion and camaraderie, and identify and solve issues across the organization.
- Be recognized as a leader to help unblock teams facing problems.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT (Information Technology), Computer Science, business, or related field
- 10+ years experience within product management and product teams
- 6+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports and people management responsibilities
- 1 year of managing managers
- An understanding of technology delivery principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Direct leadership involvement in transforming product management ways of working or product management transformation roles.
- Extensive experience making meaningful change across an organization
- Proven record of effectively communicating to stakeholders and larger audiences across all levels of the company. Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels
- Previous experience within or collaborating with user experience and engineering teams
- Ability to navigate internal and external landscapes.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in parallel
