- Enter financial transactions into the MYOB accounting system, including invoices, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable processes, including recording supplier invoices, processing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts.
- Monitor accounts receivable to track customer invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and manage collections as necessary.
- Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll transactions, including employee salary payments, deductions, and statutory contributions.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, superannuation requirements, and other payroll-related obligations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and generate financial reports using MYOB software, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide insights to management as needed.
- Tax Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, BAS/GST statements, and other statutory filings in compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax regulations and accounting standards to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts, preparing adjusting entries, and conducting financial analysis.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as auditors and finance teams, to facilitate smooth and accurate financial reporting.
- Recordkeeping and Documentation:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records, including physical and electronic files, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure documentation of financial transactions and processes is accurate, complete, and easily accessible for audit purposes.
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping roles, with proficiency in using MYOB accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Australian tax regulations, BAS/GST requirements, and payroll processing.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and generate meaningful insights.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
