- Developing and maintaining precise and current product specifications in alignment with both company protocols and regulatory standards.
- Ensuring that all raw materials and final products adhere to specifications and meet quality and safety benchmarks.
- Conducting internal audits to verify adherence to company policies and external regulatory mandates.
- Participating in external audits to guarantee compliance with external standards and regulations.
- Collaborating closely with various departments to uphold accurate and current documentation.
- Contributing to continuous improvement endeavours pertaining to quality and safety.
- Reviewing and endorsing artwork and packaging materials to ensure alignment with regulatory and company guidelines.
- Participating in supplier audits and evaluations to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of regulatory prerequisites and industry benchmarks concerning food safety, quality, and labelling.
- Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all documentation related to specifications, quality control, and auditing tasks.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate the successful introduction of new products or modifications to existing ones.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, demonstrating a robust grasp of quality control and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in HACCP, BRC, and/or other pertinent food safety and quality management systems.
- Preferred experience in conducting internal audits.
- Knowledge of food legislation and labeling regulations in the UK and/or Ireland.
- Familiarity with retailer specifications systems (e.g., M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl).
- Risk assessment and management processes (e.g., FMEA).
- Supplier management and auditing processes.
- Food safety management systems (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC).
