At Brookville Racing Ltd, we are searching for an experienced work rider. If you believe you possess the required abilities, please get in contact with us.· Riding horses in order to exercise them, without injury or undue stress to ensure they are in their top physical position prior to racing· Work Riders do not race horses in competition – only in practice· Riding pace work (trot and canter)· Riding gallops· Educating young horsesDay to day husbandry for stock including:· Grooming and clipping· Turning out and bringing in· Travelling with horses in the box as required· Day-to-day tasks such as mucking out, feeding, turning out/in, lunging and preparing horses for exercise including knowledge of tack requirements for each horse.· Tacking up the horses (putting on saddles and bridles) and un-tacking after riding· Cleaning tack and equipment· Holding stock for the vet, farrier or other· Fencing, harvesting and general agriculture work· Assisting with coverings· Foaling assistance and sitting up· Preparation of stock for sales· Treating minor wounds, recording and providing basic health information and administrating medical care as per vets’ instructions· All other activities generally required as part of looking after thoroughbred horses· Work in accordance with instruction and good health and safety practice.Other general maintenance and tidying duties e.g. washing paddock drinkers and keeping the yards and work areas cleanThis description is not exhaustive and is subject to change.
