Job Description: Reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager/Senior Team Leader, you will be part of the European Indirect Tax team. The role will be primarily focused on supporting VAT compliance and other indirect tax tasks. You will be required to work on various projects and supplementary works to improving processes/procedures within the Shared Service Centre. You may be required to support with compliance obligations in various jurisdiction, for which training will be provided, where required. What You'll Do: • Extraction/Preparation of reports from various systems to support VAT returns and certain other indirect tax obligations. • Assisting in preparing intrastats for specified entities and liaising with finance department for supporting documentation. • Assisting with the reconciliation of VAT accounts according to Hertz accounting policy. • Supporting Indirect Tax Manager in indirect tax queries/issues. • Ensuring indirect tax compliance is adherence with the market legislation. • General admin duties as required. • Assisting with the management of German NATO documentation. Key areas: • Downloading reports to support preparation and submission of indirect tax returns. • Supporting preparing the reconciliation of VAT accounts according to Hertz accounting policy. • Involvement in month-end process under US GAAP accounting. • Supporting HESC departments and the Country for specific queries. • Finding and working on new opportunities for implementing indirect tax processes. • Support internal control and SOX compliance activities related to indirect tax. • Assisting Indirect Tax Manager in the management of tax office enquiries. What We're Looking For: • Some form of Accounting/Finance qualification is desirable. • Experience (min 2 years in Accounting role) is essential. • Working knowledge of English , Italian language would be a plus. • An exposure to VAT accounting would be desirable. • Good working knowledge of MS Excel. Skills & competencies: • Good communicator. • Attention to details. • Knowledge of general accounting rules. • Good problem solving skills. • Interest in a career in tax.
