Full Details:Automation Controls Engineer, Shannon, Co Clare.Our client, one of Ireland's largest and most successful electronics companies, is now hiring for the position of Senior Hardware Engineer to join them at their facility in Clare. They are a stable company developing and manufacturing new electronics products, using state of the art technology. This would be a great opportunity for an ambitious technology professional who wants to work in a long-established and growing company. The location is within easy commuting distance of Limerick, Ennis or Galway.In your role you will be a part of the team of Automation Engineers, designing and developing control systems for state-of-the-art automated assembly equipment used within the production processes. The role will include:
  • Development, install and debug of PLC code for new automated assembly machines.
  • Develop and implement PLC code upgrades and manage the roll out to equipment.
  • Provide technical support to the machine build team throughout the entire project cycle, including design, machine build, debug and commissioning phases.
  • Contribute to design reviews with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain all relevant documentation for new and upgraded equipment.
  • Research, test and validate new technologies for use in future equipment solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project timelines and targets are achieved.
Candidate profile:
  • Qualification to Level 7 or 8 in Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1 years relevant professional experience in a similar role, ideal career level is circa 3 years relevant experience.
  • Good working knowledge of PLC’s and control systems (Omron preferably but any PLC experience is suitable.)
  • Have good working knowledge and understanding of machine safety requirements.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
