Referrals and Safeguarding Co-ordinatorJOB PURPOSE:We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to support in the review and processing of referrals, admissions and discharges. To provide oversight and governance and feedback on the review of incident reports ensuring the adherence to policy, legislation and good practice. There will be occasional need to provide training to teams in specific areas such as report writing.About the roleKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Incident review element of role:Maintain procedures for conducting thorough reviews of incidents including complaints, compliments and Child Protection Welfare Report Forms.Provide feedback to home managers in relation to the reports received, this may include recommendations in relation to practice, documentation/recording, and staffing.Ongoing monitoring that all care practices comply with relevant childcare legislation, National Standards for Children's Residential Centres, and best practice.Ongoing monitoring that the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) model and CARE (Children and Residential Experiences) model are fully integrated into the home's care practices.To assess the need for a MDT incident review meeting to take place, and co-ordinate same.Complete minutes from incident review meetings, and ensure they are sent to the home management, and follow up to monitor the completion of action plans.To contribute to the development and implementation of governance systems within the company to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of service provided.To work alongside the Regional Managers and Therapeutic Support Team (TST) to escalate any concerns/risks as per organisational policy/ Children's First Guidance.Maintain registers for safeguarding, complaints, compliments and Incident reportsReferral Review element of role:To review referral information received, and make informed decisions in relation to suitability of referral for upcoming/current vacancies.Work closely with Regional Managers, and Home managers to ensure plans in place to meet targets in relation to bed capacity.Adhere to Referrals Policies and Procedures.Oversee referrals from point of referral to point of admission to home.Maintenance of referrals spreadsheet.Provide support in relation to discharge of young people.Work closely with National Private Placement Team (NPT).Review placement progress reports, and ensure submission in adherence with timelines set out by the NPT.Additional ResponsibilitiesProcessing derogation requests.Ensure Absent Management Plans are signed by Gardai and maintain register for same.Minimum of 5 years experience in Children's Services. Experience in Children's Residential Care would be preferable.Strong IT skills and willingness to learn new systems.Good knowledge of safeguardingConfident and ability to chair meetings and deal with difficult situations should they arise.Excellent organisation and communication skillsThe ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team.Excellent recording skills, including appropriate use of spelling and grammar.Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, problem-solving, data analysis and investigation skillsQualifications - Social Work or Social Care WorkerTrainingFull induction will be provided along with training in our model of care.About the companyWe hold a heartfelt mission to care for, protect, support, empower, inspire, and enthuse both young people and colleagues.Ashdale Care is committed to positively transforming lives.Required Criteria
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Children's Services. Experience in Children's Residential Care would be preferable
  • Qualifications - Social Work or Social Care Worker
