Permanent Full-Time ContractJob Purpose
To facilitate a service user-focused service to adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome in a well-established residential service on a relief basis. To support the manager and team leaders of a dynamic team to provide a high quality and person-centred service for all who attend. Residents are supported to enjoy new experiences and work on their independent living skills in a safe and nurturing environment.Minimum Education & Skills required
  • Third-level graduate, Health & Social care or equivalent is desirable.
  • Minimum requirement of Fetac level 5 in social care or related discipline.
  • Attendance at training as deemed appropriate by the management of the service.
  • Previous experience of working with people with a disability is desirable
  • An understanding of current regulations and safeguarding adults is required.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to self-direct are also essential.
  • A full clean driving license would be a distinct advantage
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Promote and actively involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the service user.
  • Facilitate and implement a person centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of service users..
  • Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring com-fort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice and risk assessments at all times.
  • Assist service users in the taking of medication in line with policy and procedure.
