Salary: £214,113 - £257,193 per annumSanctuary Personnel is currently inviting applications for the position of Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry with a Special Interest in Neuropsychiatry or Psychiatry of Later Life for a permanent full-time role.About the Facility:Our client, located in Dublin, provides a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with a range of serious and enduring mental health needs such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's Diseases, as well as individuals with early-onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. They are the only facility in Ireland that provides a high level of specialised care for people with Huntington’s disease. They also offer specialist palliative care to individuals with mental health needs. In this facility, there is a focus on creating a therapeutic environment using recovery-oriented clinical practices and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to enable and support patients to achieve their highest level of functioning and quality of life. Care is delivered through a multidisciplinary team including colleagues in Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, and General Practice. The facility is a 123-bed inpatient mental health service, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health Commission. They value each and every member of their team and believe strongly in supporting employee well-being and the importance of a healthy work-life balance.Roles and Responsibilities:Clinical, Leadership & Operational
  • Participate in the development and undertaking of all duties and functions pertinent to the Consultant’s area of competence and in line with policies as specified by the Clinical Director.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director to support the development and delivery of operational and strategic plans.
  • Advise the Clinical Director of clinical priorities and pressures and be an active participant in strategic development discussions.
  • Provide for and ensure the delivery of positive patient and resident outcomes and strive for continued excellence.
  • Manage clinical team members as designated by the Clinical Director.
  • Liaise with clinical colleagues, the Clinical Director, Director of Nursing, Medical Officer, and other clinical disciplines to ensure that activities across the centre are appropriately coordinated and integrated.
  • Develop new and innovative ways of delivering excellent clinical services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE and Mental Health Commission requirements.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with external partners including the Health Service Executive, Private Health Insurers, and other Academic Institutions.
  • Ensure systems are in place to deliver all statutory information requirements accurately and in a timely fashion, including Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
  • Participate in systems to provide clinical information to staff to enable them to benchmark and audit their practice to improve patient and resident experience.
  • Communicate regularly with all staff in the Hospital.
