- The R&D Project Manager will manage the development of new concepts, technologies, processes, and relevant R&D sustainability initiatives working from customer briefs, blue skies concepts, existing product re-developments and factory optimisation
- The R&D Project Manager will manage a structured R&D process across the companys product technologies, devising critical paths and leading cross-functional project teams & meetings
- Manage projects to a stage where they are ready for industrial scale up. Manage the structured handover to the NPD team and work collaboratively for industrial scale up
- Work with the R&D team to conduct relevant industry & academic research projects and to complete experiments for agreed projects
- Present project reports, presentations and results to the Senior Management team as required
- Participate and support the Innovation / R&D strategy in line with specific business development plans
- Ensuring project executions meet the time, quality, and cost requirements of the brief
- Engage, work and build relationships with external bodies in industry, academia, and government to deliver agreed R&D projects
- Keep up to date on best practice and competitor benchmarking on product and process development to ensure that the company remains ahead of the competition
- Manage and complete relevant Government & Stake Holder Grant project reports for all technologies within the company
- Be part of the drive for innovation within the company by participating in Brainstorming, Synectics sessions & trend analysis forums and market safaris
- Assist in all areas of the product development process as necessary
- General administration and office duties
- Minimum 3rd level Degree in Food Science / Culinary Science or related discipline
- 5+ years R&D/NPD experience
- High energy, team player with strong record of meeting aggressive goals and objectives
- Strong research & organisational skills
- Strong people & project management skills
- Strong attention to detail skills required
- Good communication skills, self-starter, work under own initiative, good listener, assertive and highly motivated. Clear demonstration of an ability to provide guidance and motivation
