This position is crucial for ensuring that our data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimally aligned with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling, and the integration of emerging technologies into a cohesive data ecosystem that supports innovation, operational excellence, and strategic insights.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of Qualcomm’s enterprise data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology capabilities.
- Design and manage robust, scalable data models and architectures to support the evolving needs of the business, focusing on efficiency, quality, and security.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs, identify gaps in our current architecture, and propose solutions that enhance data accessibility, reliability, and scalability.
- Guide the selection and integration of advanced data management tools and technologies (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, ETL tools) to build a state-of-the-art data ecosystem.
- Define and implement data governance and quality standards, processes, and frameworks to ensure data integrity, compliance, and security across the enterprise.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture, recommending innovative solutions that can provide Qualcomm with a competitive edge.
- Mentor and lead teams of data engineers and architects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of Qualcomm’s data architectures, systems, and processes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data strategy roles, with a proven track record of leading large-scale data architecture initiatives.
- Expertise in a broad range of data management technologies and platforms (e.g., SQL/NoSQL databases, Hadoop, Spark, cloud-based data solutions like AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficient in data modeling tools and methodologies, with a strong understanding of both structured and unstructured data environments.
- Demonstrated experience with data governance, data quality management, and data security practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of building consensus across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Certifications or advanced training in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields.
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification
- AWS Data Engineer Associate Certification
- AWS Machine Learning Specialty Certification
- ArchiMate 3 Practitioner Certification
- Experience with machine learning models and AI-driven analytics.
- Familiarity with industry-specific data standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) that impact data architecture and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies in data architecture and management.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field is required.
- A Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields is strongly preferred.
