Maintenance Electrician

• Responsible to plan layout, install, repair or replace wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment.

• Support and Maintain Preventive Maintenance Routines on machines & equipment.

• Repair and maintain electrical machines, equipment and devices. • Advise & Support production team in maximising plant efficiencies.

• Identify & resolve recurring downtime/inefficient operational issues.

• Follows diagrams or layouts of wiring and equipment, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring to the required standard.

• Installs or modifies electrical wiring assemblies and accessories, control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels to machines, equipment and switchgear and other electrical devices to the required electrical standard.

• Observes functioning of installed equipment or systems, to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

• Work closely with the maintenance team and with outside contractors to perform necessary maintenance, repair or installation of machines and equipment as required.

• To work on shift and callout as determined by the schedule.

• Adhere to Safety, Emergency and ISO & IPIC Procedures.

• Electrical Trade Qualification with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.

• Have experience of electrical fault finding and a proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair.

• Enjoy a busy and varied environment.

• A solid understanding of electrical industrial equipment and machinery.

• Knowledge or experience with of PM Software.

• The ability to work independently but also as part of a team.

• Safety, quality and Productivity orientated.

• Self motivated, works well on own initiative
