We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Main Purpose and Objectives of Position:The Automation Data Systems Engineer will work as a member of the Process Automation Department at Eli Lilly, Kinsale. The Data Systems Engineer will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the various automation data systems on site, including the data historian (OSI PI) and message logging systems.Key ResponsibilitiesIn line with the objectives outlined above the following are typically the key tasks that are undertaken by the role- Maintain the Automation Data Systems to ensure the servers, applications and operating systems are maintained in a current state.- Provide day to day support and administration of the OSI PI System & Automation Data Systems.- Installation, configuration, verification of OSI PI interfaces- Develop and maintain OSI PI AF hierarchy, analytics, notifications.- Develop project deliverables relating to the requirements, design, installation, configuration, and qualification of OSI PI system.- Update SOP’s as required to reflect system updates.- Proactively perform System Monitoring and respond to issues as they arise- Work with vendors and automation engineers to troubleshoot issues.Key Attributes- Strong understanding of Automation and IT platforms and infrastructure- Knowledge of communication protocols (OPC/MODBUS).- Good understanding of Data Integrity within a regulated environment.- Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated willingness to learn new tasks/technology /upskill.- Demonstrated excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.- Demonstrated ability to participate in and facilitate decision-making.- Demonstrated good planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, commitment to task completion and timelines.- Demonstrated initiative - able to work proactively without direct supervision, continuous improvement mind-set.- Knowledge and understanding of computer systems validation and data integrity requirements would be an advantage.- Understand the business needs for data management & architecture of data systems.- Strong interest in solving technical problems and proposing longer term technical solutions/fixes- 5 years experience in automation or IT within the Pharmaceutical industry.Educational Requirements- Third Level Qualification in Computer Science or other relevant Technical/Engineering discipline.Eli Lilly and Company, Lilly USA, LLC and our wholly owned subsidiaries (collectively “Lilly”) are committed to help individuals with disabilities to participate in the workforce and ensure equal opportunity to compete for jobs.
