Overview of Role: Our client based in Co Louth/ Meath/ Cavan/ Monaghan is seeking a Maintenance Manager on a full-time permanent basis.Job Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance team, including employee and contractor scheduling, and the execution of corrective work and preventative maintenance.The Maintenance Manager will work closely with other manufacturing departments to help meet production goals, minimise equipment downtime, support process improvements, and enhance the performance of company equipment in a safe manner.Responsibilities:Full Responsibility and Accountability for the Maintenance DepartmentEnsuring plant site, buildings, machinery, and services, are maintained in optimum condition to meet the targets of the factory, maximizing uptime and plant reliabilityMaintaining plant safety compliance, safe standards of maintenance work and equipment upkeep, and statutory equipment certificationThe management and leadership of maintenance fitters and electriciansSupport craftsmen through both hands-on, and a positive culture of knowledge and skill sharing, to contribute to the overall performance of the team, and to support a dynamic and innovative development of the factoryTo guide and help these craftsmen in their work quality, and assist them in problem solving and breakdown solutions, and improvementsLead, motivate and develop a Lean approach of the team for the implementation of these goalsCoordination of maintenance staff holidays, overtime, attendance, and general performanceMaintenance schedule planningManagement of spare parts stock control, parts ordering including sourcing of better or cheaper parts and suppliers, and the respect of department budgetsManagement of contractors and external maintenance service providersCommunication with production managers and operators to understand issues and devise appropriate solutions and improvements. Coordination and communication of all maintenance works with other relevant departments in the companyEnsuring a rapid and effective response to production equipment problems whether actionable internally or requiring external assistance or specialistsProposing and implementing new productivity and cost reduction initiatives to improve production equipment performance, cost effectiveness, and maintenance expenditure optimisationMonitor and drive energy efficiency in the consumption of electricity, oil, gas, and waterParticipate in the implementation of:World Class Maintenance principals and tools and implementation of improved work order systems, CMMS, stock control, and predictive maintenance programmeMaintenance Department, Continuous Improvements Programmes, and KPIs.Enhancement of plant preventative maintenance programme and proceduresPlanning and coordinating plant shutdown maintenance works, including plant modifications, new processes, and capex projectsMaintenance budgets forecasting and maintaining costs within planned targetsProblem solving, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions as part of plant-wide multidisciplinary teams such as Production, Quality, R&D, Engineering, etc.QualificationsEducation: Must have an Engineering Degree or equivalentExperience: 5+years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a Maintenance role.Skills: Candidate should have a technical knowledge across all areas of the maintenance spectrum in a manufacturing environmentMechanical - Industrial Electrical & Automation Systems – Work Scheduling – People Management - Sourcing of Spare parts – Budgeting and Cost ManagementIf you are interested in the above role, please apply to job reference HM/769 on .
