Realtime are looking for anestablished System Administrator to join my client working alongside and in support of the IT Senior Systems Administrator;
  • General administration of the software, hardware, network, and security infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary changes to ensure uptime
  • Manage system infrastructure and resources, including installation, configuration and maintenance
  • Monitor and maintaining system security, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data protection and privacy
  • Enhance the logical and physical security infrastructure, including Firewall, Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and encryption methods
  • Configure and maintain network devices, including switches, firewalls, NAC, and VPNs
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and installations in coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage subscriptions and licensing agreements and ensuring compliance
  • Manage the scalability, performance and redundancy for all platforms including capacity planning
  • Monitor and maintaining system backups in conjunction with BaaS vendor
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Contribute to budget development and monitor spend
Project Management;
  • Managing project activities from initiation through to project completion
  • Documenting full project life cycle
  • Working on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with business users
Change Management;
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve IT infrastructure and security efficiency and effectiveness
  • Make recommendations for system enhancements or upgrades based on emerging trends and best practices
  • Work closely with third party technical architects, solution designers and developers on proposed solutions, carry out feasibility and impact assessments of proposed solutions
  • Prepare user manuals and training material for new functionality and delivering same
  • Participate in technical and business acceptance tests
What we’re looking for:
  • Excellent administrative knowledge of and proven experience in the following technologies;
  • Windows Server 2016-2022, Windows 10/11, Hyper-V, Active Directory Management, Group Policy Management, SCCM, SQL 2016+, Microsoft 365 and Azure platform administration and security, SharePoint, Endpoint Protection Technologies, Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, Backup methodology and management, Check Point firewall
  • Excellent knowledge of and proven experience in best practice Information Security, e.g. Incident Response, Intrusion mgmt., Attack Monitoring, Network mgmt., Threat and Vulnerability Management, e.g. SIEM, XDR, Firewall, IPS, NAC, Server config controls
  • Excellent knowledge of and proven experience in managing an array of IT Infrastructure: Servers, workstations, network switches, mobile devices, SAN infrastructure (ideally Dell, HPE, Brocade)
  • Excellent knowledge of and practical experience in general networking, topologies, IP, sub-netting, Firewalls, routing protocols, encryption standards
  • Proficient in automation tools including PowerShell, Power Automate, Office apps
  • Excellent knowledge of and proven experience in Data Management – including database technologies and methodologies around implementing data privacy and data encryption
  • Proven experience in liaising with an array of external vendors
  • Strong English communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Effective relationship building skills
  • Good people management skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to drive change and secure consensus collaboratively without resorting to defensiveness
