- Responsible for the project test strategy, plan, test design, execution , automation of test cases and executing the tests seamlessly in the build pipeline. * to define it and take care of milestones/complete life-cycle of the project
- Ensures that the project test strategy covers system context, test environment and topology, test design and test execution approach, coverage of software integration and qualification, system integration and qualification, test entry and exit criteria and related aspects.
- Work closely with the project team as part of the SCRUM team organization
- Responsible for the test estimation and planning as part of the program increment or relevant planning mechanism in the project.
- Responsible for ensuring the project defined processes is followed in the project through necessary training, coaching and process compliance checks.
- Responsible for staffing test team and determining allocations for internal or external resources through effective coordination with the End to End-Global Test Teams.
- Creates and provides reports on project status to internal and external interested organizations.
- Customer interface for communicating Software & System test strategies, status and providing deliverables
- Provide leadership for the complete project test team. ( not people management, task of the team, guidelines)
- Responsible for the Test Estimation and Planning at the projects.
- Ensures that the timelines and schedule commitments are adhered in an effective manner.
- Responsible for tracking the project through test metrics related to Test Strategy, Test Design, Test Execution, Test Automation Quality, CI/CD, Defect leakage.
- Responsible for driving the Root cause analysis and 8D for causal analysis and resolution.
- Responsible for driving the team towards the ideal Test Pyramid (UT, IT, FT, Non Functional Test) and the different types of testing
- Responsible for providing clear and transparent communication through Test Reporting and assessment of the quality of the release.
- Ensures that the test team work in a collaborative manner with the development team.
- Responsible for driving an Agile Way of Working through effective collaboration, incremental test design and execution approach, automation and following the agile principles and practices.
- 5+ years of experience leading medium sized engineering/software development organizations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience leading a matrix organization and managing technology development budgets.
- Proven ability to coach technical leaders.
- Command of problem solving, organizational effectiveness, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience delivering embedded systems or system testing for automotive systems.
- Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®), regarding verification and validation process areas
- Experience of risk management (risk based testing)
- 10+ years related technical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in System Test activities
- 3-5 years of experience in C#, C and Python. (good to have)
- Good experience in Git, Gerrit and Jenkins (good to have)
- Good knowledge in Linux.
- Good knowledge in Android system test.
- System level debugging.
- Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
- Proven record of experience in leadership of development teams
- Experience in test methodologies, tools and methods
- Good knowledge in testing embedded systems
- Strong Know-How of technical/automotive standards in infotainment or telematics software projects
- Efficiently meeting deadlines, schedules, and target dates
- Expertise in working with distributed development teams
- Business fluent in English
- This position requires the use of a use of HARMAN or customer-owned vehicles. As such, usage of company vehicles will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN's sole discretion based on regional requirements.
