We employ over 21,000 people worldwide.We are also a founding member of the oneworld global alliance whose combined network serves over 750 destinations worldwide.Reports To: Group Safety Manager - AnalyticsDepartment: Group Safety & Operational Risk Mgt (GSR)Responsible for the safety data management, safety analytics and reporting services for the group airlines.Key Responsibilities * Responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of data captured from relevant Safety Information Systems.
  • Manage the Group’s Safety Database from a safety, security, quality, business resilience and risk perspective to ensure data integrity and security across the disciplines.
  • Manage the technical aspects of the Group’s Safety Database and ensure that the latest functionality is incorporated where appropriate.
  • Manage and harmonise the incident reporting system (from a technical perspective) – provision of technical oversight, and coordination for various data collection channels.
  • Prepare regular and customised statistical packages in support of the Group’s Safety Action Groups (SAGs) and Committees.
  • Select pertinent safety data and organise elements into meaningful reports to support analysis for investigations, safety projects, audits, and special requests. Streamline, consolidate and standardise all report output types / layouts.
  • Coordinate the use of data with internal and external stakeholders to support and facilitate safety analysis / data exchange.
  • Develop the automation and analytical tools to support the analysis, visualisation and management of the safety, security, quality and business resilience data contained in the Group’s Safety Database and various Safety Information Systems.
  • Maximise the interoperability of safety intelligence from different data sources. This entails developing and defining operational requirements for design, maintenance, enhancement and utilisation of an automated database.
  • Conduct the Group’s Safety Database training (Safety Module) when required.
  • Undertake ad-hoc safety analysis projects as directed by Group Safety Manager - Analytics (GSM-A) / Head of Group Safety (HGS).
  • Member of the Group’s Safety Database Steering Committee and User Group.
  • Attend safety meetings as required.
  • Deputise for GSM-A as required for periods of extended absence.
RequirementsSkills
  • Broad operational knowledge and experience in different functions of the organisation.
  • Sound knowledge of safety & risk management principles and practices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy (e.g. SQL, Python, R, MS Power Platform, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, Qliksense & other data analytics tools).
  • Ability to relate to all levels, both inside and outside the organisation.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Good analytical skills and proficient in statistical software.
Knowledge
  • Relevant aviation, engineering or technical discipline undergraduate degree.
  • SMS Qualification.
  • Statistical data mining.
  • Project management.
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in airline or related industry.
  • Minimum 3 years in management role.
