This is a senior role within ASP FCS which presents a thrilling challenge and could be the career advancement you have been seeking. By joining our Asia Pacific Regional Team, you will be a part of the leadership team that is driving our Business ambition to deliver radical transformation of our digital customer lending journeys. You will gain extensive exposure working with multiple Market teams in Asia, as also senior executives in ASP as also the Global team to drive key strategic initiatives related to Originations and Credit Decisioning and achieve target commercial outcomes.Fraud & Credit Services is a function within the Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) Line of Business and includes 3 key sub-functions: (1) Underwriting or Credit Lending Operations (2) Fraud Operations and (3) Collections Operations. This opportunity is for a Senior Manager role in the Regional ASP Underwriting team. The ASP underwriting team is a regional team that oversees Underwriting or Credit Lending operations for both secured (mortgage) and unsecured (credit cards and personal loans) products across 11 markets in Asia Pacific region. The team has 3 major focus areas / responsibilities:Partner with Product & Risk teams to co-own and drive radical end-to-end transformation of our digital lending journeys across major growth markets in Asia, with the objective of delivering real-time straight through processing (STP) and customer onboarding. This is a significant focus area for ASP WPB Business and this senior manager role in ASP Underwriting team plays a pivotal role in spearheading the execution of this strategic agenda.Drive data-led initiatives in partnership with the FCS Global Analytics team, to support the agenda of Underwriting Operational Excellence across ASP markets. The team’s focus is to proactively seek out opportunities using data-led insights that can be used to streamline and optimize our operations, resulting in improved productivity, reduced cost of operations, superior customer experience.Maintain robust oversight of underwriting operations in the markets. This includes implementing effective governance measures, aligning FCS practices with global standards, and monitoring key risk indicators and performance metrics, such as quality assurance, adherence to service level agreements and capacity alignment with business forecast. The team also engages to support market teams in internal and external audit reviews. Moreover, drawing on extensive experience and leadership acumen to actively promote best practice sharing and facilitate their implementation across ASP Markets, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • This senior manager role entails a heightened level of experience, seniority, and leadership, encompassing both change and operational oversight activities at a large scale. The specific tasks and responsibilities for this role are outlined below:
Change & Transformation:
  • Conduct comprehensive research, perform thorough gap analysis, and conduct extensive internal/external benchmarking to identify areas for operational optimization. Utilize your seasoned expertise to lead the execution of radical end-to-end transformation initiatives for digital lending journeys
  • Design and implement innovative solutions and transformative changes based on in-depth research findings. Your advanced understanding of industry trends and best practices will ensure that these changes are aligned with organizational policies and standards
  • Develop robust business cases that include meticulous cost-benefit estimations, demonstrating your ability to strategically support and justify proposed changes and initiatives. Your extensive experience will lend credibility to these business cases, instilling confidence in stakeholders
  • Apply your in-depth knowledge of project and change management principles to plan and execute initiatives. Your leadership will ensure the successful delivery of these initiatives, taking into account the complexities and challenges that arise during implementation
  • Provide proactive and expert consultancy services during the initiation and prioritization phases of the change lifecycle. Share strategic insights and senior-level guidance will be instrumental in shaping the direction and focus of change efforts, ensuring maximum impact and benefits
Operational Oversight:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan activities, including progress tracking, resource monitoring, budget management, and comprehensive operational risk and issue management and this includes, but not limited to, SLA, quality standard, system disruption and vendor related issues etc. Exercise judgment based on expertise and guiding principles to steer the planning process, ensuring efficient and effective execution
  • Support the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of ongoing governance reporting, provide insightful analysis and recommendations. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively will inspire confidence among senior leadership
  • As a senior manager, you will be required to travel internationally as needed, collaborating with different markets and delivering best-in-class solutions for our customers. Your global perspective and cultural sensitivity will enable you to navigate diverse environments and forge strong partnerships
Requirements
  • Possesses an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, demonstrating a strong academic foundation
  • Demonstrates a wealth of experience (10 + years) in driving transformative change initiatives within the financial services industry, with a track record of successful outcomes
  • Experience in one or more domains within FCS (Underwriting, Fraud Operations, Collections operations, and/or Credit Risk), highlighting a comprehensive understanding of these areas will be an advantage
  • Exhibits experience with analytics, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrate proactive engagement and responsiveness in both internal and external audit reviews while effectively and skillfully tackling audit challenges
  • Experience in leading or actively participating in UAT testing for large scale of project, and ability to swiftly identify issues and drive the completion of the testing with defined timelines, will be a plus
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of leadership within technology teams, utilizing agile methodology, fostering talent, and leveraging tools such as JIRA/Confluence to drive innovation and efficiency
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical matters with senior leaders, bridging the gap between business and technology through clear and concise dialogue
  • Brings extensive experience in requirements gathering and design activity, adeptly handling projects and products with a holistic focus on business, operations, and technology
  • Demonstrates a remarkable ability to rapidly develop expertise in both technical and non-technical domains, showcasing versatility and adaptability
