- Develop and execute pricing strategies for life insurance products, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market trends.
- Lead the actuarial team in conducting pricing analyses, including mortality, morbidity, persistency, and expense studies, to determine appropriate pricing levels.
- Collaborate with underwriting and product development teams to assess risk factors and incorporate them into pricing models.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive pricing, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior actuaries, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of pricing models and assumptions to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with finance department to analyze financial impact and profitability of pricing decisions.
- Present pricing recommendations and reports to senior management, effectively communicating complex actuarial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay updated on emerging actuarial trends, methodologies, and advancements, and implement relevant changes to enhance pricing effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. A master's degree or actuarial certification (e.g., FSA, ASA) is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience (at least 7-10 years) in actuarial pricing within the life insurance industry, with a focus on individual life products.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial pricing methodologies, including experience studies, risk assessment, and assumption setting.
- Proficiency in actuarial software and tools (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, Excel) for pricing and modeling purposes.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts and their application to actuarial pricing.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing actuarial teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and precision in actuarial calculations and analyses.
