  • Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems per specifications; and that all testing work is undertaken in accordance with the policies and procedures as described by the Bupa Test Framework and chosen development lifecycle (i.e. SDLC, agile etc.).
  • Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, projects, and process/system requirements. The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate business requirements and processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in change initiatives.
  • Create and execute test plan, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications, fulfil business requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
  • Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications; and is fit for user acceptance test (UAT).
  • Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and UAT methods.
  • Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance test, and provide support to key users (e.g. logging defects; following up the progress of defect fixing with software/systems personnel) during UAT.
  • Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance/testing best practices.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Provide briefings of system changes / system related training to users.
  • Raise ideas for possible improvements within the test team and to help carry these ideas forward.
  • Proactively participate in all team, project or review meetings giving feedback to ensure continual improvement and undertaking initiatives as directed.
  • Provide input to business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and release notes.
  • Make recommendations for improvement of applications to software/systems personnel.
Job RequirementsRequirements
  • College diploma or university degree in software engineering, information technology or computer science
  • Possess or working towards CSTE/CSQA/ISTQB certificate, Prince2 or PMP registration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar role
  • Broad exposure to a wide range of technologies (e.g. Microsoft CRM, Oracle, SQL, Unix, Linux, Client Server, Web based and Mobile Apps, etc.) and demonstrated experience in seeking out new and emerging technologies
  • With experience in testing small or large scale application systems across different platforms
  • Knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
  • With exposure in using testing tools for test automation and management (e.g. Quality Centre, Microsoft Test Manager, Load Runner etc)
  • Exposure in AGILE testing preferred
  • Insurance or healthcare industry experience preferred.
Knowledge & skills
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and excellent listening skills.
  • Fluent English, good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Cantonese speaking is a must.
  • Excellent PC skills.
  • Knowledge of project management lifecycle & methodologies (e.g. Prince2, PMP, SDLC, Agile, etc.) and substantial exposure to project-based work structures (Desirable).
  • Understanding of IT architecture, integration and design, and IT operations (Desirable).
  • A team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and use judgment to escalate issues to next level when required.
