But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.Doncaster Council’s Public Health team are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for Public Health to support the delivery of the Smokefree Generational programme work.The post-holder will contribute to the development and implementation of the Smokefree Generation programme, in addition to the delivery and communication of wider tobacco control measures across Doncaster.Key elements of the post will be to:
  • Manage, develop and sustain key working relationships with a range of partners and key stakeholders including service providers, the voluntary and private sectors.
  • Organise training and provide information for partner organisations to increase skills and knowledge of behaviour change, harm reduction and smoking cessation.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of Smokefree Generation projects, identifying areas for improvement and learning.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns (reactive and proactive), including engaging with service users, residents and partners. Develop resources that empower and destigmatise smokers in line with the compassionate approach.
  • Ensure effective management of resources and finance, in line with Department for Health and Social Care and Doncaster Council (as the accountable body) procedures including data reporting, commissioning, procurement and management of a wide range of service delivery arrangements including any contract monitoring and management.
We are looking for candidates with an understanding of tobacco control with experience of working across health and care systems.
