Senior Project ManagerRPS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Clean Water Network Team. This is a senior level position and will deliver and build upon our existing frameworks and relationships with utilities companies across Scotland.About the Role:Existing projects are primarily focused on reducing the risk of discolouration in the clean water network for our client through the design and delivery of efficient, non-intrusive cleaning techniques while managing broad sets of data. Continuous innovation in this area is ongoing, through development of new techniques and enhancing existing ones.Your responsibilities will also include developing new opportunities for projects; preparing/reviewing proposals; management of project contracts, project cash flow, building and maintaining great working relationships with your project stakeholders; providing technical guidance for your projects; supporting and developing your team.The health and safety of your team will be another key aspect of the role, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, training is kept up to date and investigations are carried out to a high standard.Why RPS?This is an exciting time to join RPS and be involved in providing challenges and opportunities which require innovation, dedication, and team work to help us meet our clients' needs.We're a connected community, working together to achieve exceptional outcomes.   • Managing a Programme or Framework of projects through the entire project lifecycle from Inception through to handover and closure by utilising the 4 key pillars of project management: PLAN, ORAGANISE, LEAD & CONTROL.
  • Working within the RPS Clean Water Business area
  • Leading change management, continual Improvement and incremental growth of business and people to realise a 'high performing teams' culture.

Who we're looking for?Ideally based in the Scottish Central belt area, you will have a good understanding of contract conditions and strive to improve on financial targets whilst delivering on all quality and safety requirements.Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Team leadership - experience of successfully leading integrated/blended/diverse/multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex project outputs and programme outcomes.
  • Communication - high emotional intelligence - listens and questions effectively, concise verbal and written communication skills. High IT literacy being able to communicate with both business and IT teams. Able to communicate with confidence to stakeholders at all levels
  • Strive to exceed client aspiration and are goal driven
  • You will have extensive experience in the leadership and management of people and projects, ideally gained in the utility service industry or similar and will have the ability to deliver results in an often unpredictable, operational environment.
  • You will have proven experience managing performance and able to analyse data to implement change, coupled with outstanding communication skills, the ability to engage at all levels, influence others and effectively contribute to contract and business development strategy ensuring efficient use of resources and equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of the MS office suite, work management systems and applications are essential.
Desirable but not essential:
  • Water Industry Experience - Knowledge of the working practices
  • Clean Water Networks - Knowledge and understanding of network hydraulics and asset types found on these networks
  • NEC4 Contracts - Ideally NEC4 Professional Services group of contracts
Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject is desirable although significant previous experience may be considered
  • Hold an industry recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM
  • IOSH managing safely
  • Development - wants to continually develop new skills in themselves and others through continuous professional development and other means
  • A full UK driving licence is also essential.
