- Creation of purchase orders from various sources in both FSM and JD Edwards in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work closely with vendors to ensuring timely and efficient sourcing of required parts with any delays and lead times communicated back to the requestor.
- Responsible for the initiation, inputting and variance generation and investigation of both cycle and full inventory counts for assigned locations.
- Appropriately source materials from various vendors based on request while considering cost, lead time and any potential substitutions required.
- Investigate and engage with the field to correct negative inventory in FSM.
- Follow up on open purchase orders with vendors and field staff to remain current.
- Ensure costing is correct for parts orders through validation with quotes to avoid margin erosion and revenue leakage.
- Educate regional employees on inventory control protocols and standards while fostering and maintaining positive relationships.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
- Community College Diploma or equivalent training.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience, in related position (i.e. inventory control or purchasing experience).
- Previous experience with propane service/installation and industry knowledge would be an asset.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work effectively with seasonal demand pressures and meet fixed time constraints.
- Good understanding of the regional geography across Canada.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required with working knowledge for JD Edwards and FSM preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to build positive working relationships.
- Fluency in French/English, both written and verbal, is required.
