Multiskilled Baggage Engineers4 on 4 off shift rotation£50,000Heathrow AirportYou will be a key member of the Service Team responsible for the daily planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance and upkeep of a wide range of equipment automation equipment.We are recruiting a number of Maintenance Engineers for this opportunityHeathrow Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world handling over 75 million passengers annually. Heathrow is one of the largest single site employers supporting some of the most up to date engineering solutions, it is a fantastic opportunity to join a global company in one of the busiest environments whilst being an innovative and supportive environment to grow your career.Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this role will keep the airport systems running at full capacity.Key accountabilities
  • Maximising the use of existing electrical and mechanical equipment whilst not compromising customer service
  • You will be responsible for Mechanical & Electrical reactive, corrective, and preventative maintenance across Heathrow Baggage Handling System assets including Conveyors, Carousels, Curve belt conveyors, Vertical-Sortation Units, motors, sensors, and scanners.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment, ensuring "right first time"
  • Respond quickly to breakdown situations and carry out effective corrective maintenance regimes.
  • Enter all work carried out and parts used into the Maximo system.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and carry out effective root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers face-to-face, via email, or on the phone.
  • Ensure that contract service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved and improved.
  • To carry out electrical maintenance work on high and low voltage, single and 3-phase electrical systems and associated equipment
  • Undertake regular health & safety inspections with the Site Management Team
  • To work efficiently and effectively and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Working as part of an established team, contributing to deliver best working practices and service to our customer base.

  • Responsible for the safe operation of activities carried out from maintenance activities.
  • To ensure competence and compliance with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Safety Requirements
  • To undertake all mandatory training and other appropriate development as required.
Essential:This is a permanent position and will be working at Heathrow Airport, you will require a full airside clearance. We can help give you more information on the below

Qualifications/Experience -
  • Electrical or Mechanical NVQ/BTEC/C&G Lv3
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent in engineering or similar field
  • 17th/18th Edition desirable
Desirable/Transferable skills
  • Experience of working within a similar role (automated facility, MHE equipment, FMCG etc)
  • Electrical or Mechanical installation in an industrial environment.
  • Electrical fault-finding, panel wiring etc
