The Opportunity:Located in Livonia, Michigan at the Masco World Headquarters, the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will be hands-on interacting, collaborating, and coordinating with all aspects of our business. You will work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis, Investor Relations, Tax, Legal, Benefits, and our Operations teams.While reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will assist in the preparation of various SEC filings including the quarterly Form 10-Q’s and annual Form 10-K, ensuring that they are in compliance with company policies, accounting principles generally accepted in the United States, and SEC regulations.You will also be supporting our domestic and international business units on accounting and reporting matters by providing technical guidance, assessing accounting and reporting ramifications, developing accounting position papers, and resolving appropriate accounting conclusions.As part of these efforts, this role will coordinate with both internal stakeholders and our external specialists (i.e. valuation specialists, actuaries, etc.) on various accounting matters to drive our financial reporting processes.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Financial Reporting Manager to ensure financial reporting processes are in compliance with company policy, US GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Assistance with the preparation of the quarterly Form 10-Q’s and annual Form 10-K and related analyses
  • Perform technical accounting research, draft accounting memos, and author accounting policies, as well as develop and lead training sessions with key individuals within our businesses
  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and related procedures including drafting new policies
  • Effectively communicate across the enterprise with our internal partners to gather financial information required
  • Support domestic and international locations on accounting and reporting matters
  • Work directly with internal and external auditors to provide analysis and any required audit documentation vital for the successful completion of any audit
  • Support other projects as assigned that we are engaged in to support the business
Required Experiences and Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • 3-5 years of work experience in public accounting and/or industry with multifaceted responsibilities
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with a high level of competence and proficiency in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, detail oriented
  • Works effectively within a team environment
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information and interact effectively with senior financial management
