- Leads and trains (as needed) a team of associates within the distribution center/ warehouse.Assist the Supervisor to Open and / or close the facility, prioritize workflow, provide support and coaching to the associates.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Administers daily work functions to ensure the achievement of daily business goals.
- Works with shift Supervisor/ Manager to plan for manpower to meet order volume and capacity requirements.
- Assists the Supervisor to ensure individual and team production goals are met.
- Maintains reports and provides data analysis of individual and team performance.
- Reconciliation of end of day processes.
- Leads by example and ensures compliance with all Health and Safety practices; Support safety incident/ accident investigations as needed.
- Provides feedback to associates on process related activities and productivity.
- Provides meaningful input to the Supervisor/ Manager for each associates performance appraisal and coaching situations.
- Responds & accepts constructive feedback from associates, peers.
- Leads and motivates associates through spontaneous recognition/reward and actively solicit their input.
- Provides recommendations to improve overall department.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 year or more related experience, preferably in a warehouse environment
- 1 year or more Inventory Control experience
- Must be able to drive an order selector; possess at least 6 months machine driving experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and vendors.
- Must be PC literate.
- Basic level skill proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
- Should be able to work with an RF scanner
- Accurate typing skills and/or data entry.
