The finance department of Thales Nederland consists of ~50 team members organized in 2 different competence centers (clusters):
  • Shared Services Accounting, Reporting & Controlling;
  • Bid & Project, Industrial and Procurement Control (Business Control)
Business Control is responsible for the management accounting and program control of all projects and the supply chain within Hengelo and Huizen. Within the Competence Center Business Control, we are looking for an Business Controller, mainly located in Hengelo.For our biggest project at the moment, we need to transform 4 ships into Marine ships and provide 2 training centers and a test centre and we need a Project Controller to support us.About your future jobAs Business Controller you will play an important role in the further development of this position. You are actively involved in the optimization of processes and reports and you work closely with the project organization, tactical planning departments and purchasing. In your role, you act as a business partner for them. The capacity to listen is necessary to identify the needs of the organization, which you can turn into the right responds at the right time. By means of analyzes you contribute to insight into risks and opportunities with regard to financial key figures, so that the predictability of your projects will increase. You advise on optimization and increasing efficiency within your projects. Finally, you increase the efficiency of the department by optimizing and keeping the financial processes up-to-date and by supporting and implementing IT systems/tooling. It is important that you can oversee the entire process and that you can work from the overall view, in order to jointly achieve optimal cooperation.As an Business Controller your responsibilities include preparing reports, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis and reporting to senior management of all costs and financial data for the projects you work on. As a member of the Business Control team you will support and advise the team in managing our projects. The successful candidate must evaluate, monitor and implement policies, practices and functional performance standards. Our Finance team is a key partner to the wider business and part of the role of Business Controller. To ensure that these relationships are managed and maintained appropriately, whilst providing subject matter expertise on both day to day issues and key initiatives. Communication skills are critical to your success in this role.The main tasks are:

Why you'd be a good matchYou have Bachelor or Master degree in Finance or strongly related to Finance, relevant work experience is appreciated. You have affinity with technical processes and a good knowledge of MS Office. We are looking for a candidate with passion for finance and who likes to work in an informal environment. You have the ability to understand complex processes . Strong organization, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills are crucial in this role. You are curious by nature and can grow into a professional role as business partner. Good communication skills (English, Dutch, French would be appreciated) and be a valued business partner. You have the ability to understand complex issues and to see the overall view. Knowledge of ERP-systems are a big advantage.
