- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of primary students.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students and parents, fostering strong relationships and open communication.
- IB PYP Curriculum Implementation:
- Design and implement engaging and inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum.
- Foster a love for learning through interactive and hands-on activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Individualized Learning:
- Recognize and address the diverse learning needs within the classroom, differentiating instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with learning support specialists to provide additional assistance to students as needed.
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents, supporting continuous improvement.
- Collaborative Planning:
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects that integrate the PYP transdisciplinary themes.
- Engage in regular team meetings to share insights, discuss student progress, and contribute to the overall development of the primary curriculum.
- Parental Engagement:
- Establish and maintain transparent and open channels of communication with parents, including regular updates on student progress, upcoming events, and opportunities for involvement.
- Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual student growth and development.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Teaching certification, with a focus on the IB Primary Years Programme preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting.
- Familiarity with the IB PYP curriculum and philosophy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
