Establish and maintain Creighton University as an official American Heart Association Training Center (AHA TC). This role will support and coordinate university wide efforts to meet training needs of our students, faculty, and staff. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Creighton University AHA Training Centers among our Omaha and Phoenix campuses. Functions as an AHA clinical expert and resource to all health science disciplines throughout the university.

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Creighton University AHA Training Centers (Omaha and Phoenix) to include maintaining certification of Creighton University as an official AHA Training Center.
  • Performs as the lead instructor for courses, manages the hiring of additional instructors and coordination of class offerings while maintaining an active list of instructors for high volume training cycles or to meet additional internal or external training requests.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of all physical and online required certification card classes and maintains and issues updates outlined by AHA.
  • Maintains scheduling of instructor courses and instructor renewals for the Training Center to meet the needs of AHA compliance university wide.
  • Functions as an AHA clinical expert and point of contact as a resource to all health science disciplines throughout the university.
  • Develops budgetary needs for AHA training site including distributing invoices.
  • Maintains and replaces all training site equipment and coordinates with the simulation operations team within the Werner Center for optimum training spaces throughout campuses and coordinates, maintains, and distributes equipment to instructors.
  • Accountable for maintaining quality among all instructional offerings and ensuring individual unit/discipline needs are met and reassessed frequently.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences discipline and current EMT, paramedic, LPN or RN licensure preferred.
  • One year of experience as a Basic Life Support Instructor required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills, teaching ability, interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong sales and customer service focus to meet the internal needs of our organization.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • AHA BLS, ACLS instructor certified.
