Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to the student with ASD, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care as required.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies to support the student's learning and development.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the student's independence, self-esteem, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to monitor the student's progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding the student's progress and any concerns.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience working with students with ASD or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN support or education are advantageous but not essential – enthusiasm, empathy, and a willingness to learn are key!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of students with SEN.
