About the RoleBabcock is on the lookout for several Procurement Specialists to join our vibrant and diverse Procurement Team, focusing on crucial Defence programs as part of our expanding operations.In these roles, you'll play a pivotal part in overseeing the strategic upstream activities within Defence. Your main responsibilities will involve cultivating strong supplier relationships in alignment with our business objectives, and steering negotiations for contracts with existing and prospective suppliers. Moreover, you'll be instrumental in devising, supporting, and tracking key initiatives aimed at maximising savings and advantages.Your role will also encompass spearheading procurement plans and sourcing strategies based on thorough research and analysis, ensuring optimal value for money outcomes while meeting the needs and expectations of stakeholders.   • Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Experience in operational and engineering services-based supply chain environment.
  • Category management experience.
  • Proven supply base management and strategic sourcing skills in a highly complex and regulated environment.
  • Understanding of contract law, with exposure to complex contracts, ideally ASDEFCON.
  • Cost accounting knowledge, with the ability to conduct detailed cost analysis, compare costs using TCO principles, and calculate should-costs.
