The Fremont Bank Intern program is aimed at fostering and ensuring equal opportunity.Department OverviewThe Commercial Lending business unit originates and services business loans. It is comprised of several functions including: sales, credit analysis, underwriting, processing, documentation, funding, closing, portfolio management, and servicing.Position OverviewThe Commercial Lending Project Coordinator will work on two medium-sized projects: 1) build out new associate onboarding and training materials, and 2) convert Excel reports to Tableau reports. The role will also assist with other discrete department projects. No prior knowledge of Tableau required.Role and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate/facilitate working session to identify needs and requirements for associate onboarding
  • Review existing assets to determine gaps
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designer to design and create onboarding and training materials
  • Coordinate/facilitate working session with stakeholders to create backlog of Excel reports to convert
  • Collaborate with Commercial Data Analyst to convert Excel reports to Tableau
Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Time management and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to take initiative
Eligibility and RequirementsOnly individuals possessing outstanding character, a high degree of motivation, and the willingness to learn will be selected.To be considered, students must meet the following qualifications:
  • Candidate should be taking upper division courses (junior or senior year)
  • Candidate should express interest in working in a related field that supports financial services, after graduation
  • Candidate should be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Candidate must be returning to their campus following the program
  • Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the workplace
  • Have excellent customer services/client focus, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively and have solid attention to details
  • Experience in administrative/office support and phone skills
  • Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Offices including Word, Excel (pivot tables, charts); PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
  • Experience in research, analysis and statistical data are a plus
What to ExpectThe Intern will have a weekly 1:1 with the reporting managers and will also attend project status meetings. The Intern will be required to deliver an onboarding kit with recommendations and to complete the conversion of several reports from Excel to Tableau. The Intern will gain a basic understanding of the commercial lending process and a basic understanding of a commercial loan origination system. The Intern will also develop business process analysis skills and business process documentation skills.
