The market-listed group of companies employs about 95,000 people in 27 countries and generated consolidated sales of EUR 5.1 billion in 2022.The UK business operates from Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire and employs around 330 people.QualificationsJob Title: CAD Harness Designer (3D)Location: Gaydon and SouthamYour Tasks/ Responsibilities:Reporting to the CAD Team Leader to ensure technical deliverables (e.g. CAD Gateways) are achieved in support of the customer project deliverables.Your duties will include:
  • To liaise with System Owners progressing information relevant to 3D models
  • Hands on creation of 3D models to produce harness drawings to customer standards
  • To attend packaging meetings, presenting and justifying preferred solutions
  • Deliver 3D models to project timing
  • To jointly own specific harnesses, in conjunction with Manufacturing and Harness Engineers
  • Support initial product builds at the Customer and LEONI manufacturing sites
Your Profile:
  • Ideally educated to HND/degree level, in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electrical/Auto/Mechanical)
  • Demonstrable understanding of electrical principles, and vehicle electrical systems, essential
  • Demonstrable understanding of EDS CAD design and routing, essential
  • Experience in the use of CATIA V5 and V6 and Electronic work bench would be preferred.
  • Experience with PLM Tools (preferably TCE and 3DX), would be advantageous
  • Experience in a vehicle manufacturing environment, preferably in a design support role would be beneficial
  • Ideally, knowledge of harness manufacturing processes and best practice in ‘design for manufacture’
  • A structured approach to problem solving
  • Ability to organise multiple work streams and achieve parallel deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide technical instruction
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with customer facing experience an advantage
  • Prepared to travel with the UK and Overseas
