- Reviews land development and building permit applications for compliance with zoning, subdivision, landscaping and parking regulations.
- Serves as case manager of variance and special exception permit applications.
- Assists with long-range planning projects including drafting, implementation, community engagement, and other related tasks.
- Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to implement the City's various plans including the Comprehensive plan, master plans, and small area plans.
- Engages community members in planning processes through public input and educational opportunities.
- Prepares clear and concise technical reports, summarizes complex subject matters, and presents staff reports to City Boards.
- Assists with analyzing and preparing demographic, socioeconomic, land development, and infrastructure data.
- May analyze and prepare demographic, socioeconomic, land development, and infrastructure data.
- Communicates with other departments, citizens, civic leaders, neighborhood groups, developers, real estate agencies and engineers regarding development proposals with oversight from the planning manager.
- Uses permit tracking software to track land development cases and to prepare reports.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Reviews land development applications and building permit applications for compliance with zoning, subdivision, landscaping and parking regulations.
- Serves as case manager of zoning map amendments, variance requests, specialist exception permits, and annexation petitions.
- Leads or assists with special planning projects including, preparation and issuance of RFP/RFQ's, management and quality control of long-range planning projects, collaboration/partnerships with other departments or community groups, and other related tasks.
- Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to implement the City's various plans including the Comprehensive plan, master plans, and small area plans.
- Engages community members in planning processes through public input and educational opportunities.
- Prepares clear and concise technical reports, summarizes complex subject matters, and presents staff reports to City Boards.
- Conducts extensive research in specific or general project areas. Writes, or assists in writing, regulations relating to land development and updates guiding documents, i.e. the Comprehensive Plan.
- Uses permit tracking software to track land development cases and to prepare reports.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or institution in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in GIS, and the full suite of Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver's license within 90 days).
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or institution in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Two years of related experience in a professional level Urban Design and/or Urban Planning role.
- Experience in GIS, permit tracking software, and Microsoft Office suite and Adobe products.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver's license within 90 days).
- Prior municipal government experience.
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or institution in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- AICP Certification.
